I shot a bunch of cool people for Virginia Business this month. It was their "best places to work" issue and they sent me to some really fun places all over Northern Virginia.
CarFax based based in Northern Virginia lets you bring your dog to work and their office was really fun.
For this shoot we photographed their head of HR with some of the office dogs.

I photographed some pretty cool portraits for NBA Media Day at the beginning of the season. I wanted to shoot something a little moodier than usual and piggy backing on last years media day I knew I wanted to shoot with blue and red gels again.
Pretty simple set up. 3 lights. We have the key light as a medium octobox placed high and pointed down and forward. And then on one side a bare strobe with a red gel and the other side had a bare strobe with a blue gel.
Here is out setup...
A 9 foot black seamless from Savage, a medium octobox for the key; high and to camera right, and then 2 stripboxes for rim lighting coming from each side (one with a blue gel and one with a red gel).

Happy January and welcome to my new site. After many years with a different website provider, a few too many things were changing that I wasn't happy about so I started the search for another website provider and after doing the diligent research I decided on going with Square Space for my online portfolio.
There are a bunch of reasons why I chose Square Space but here are just a couple; some other professionals that I admire greatly have moved over the Square Space recently, the platform is very easy to learn, they have great options for adding e-commerce (which will hopefully be coming soon, keep your eyes peeled for that), the site templates look fantastic and many, many more...
